Warning: The 500mL cap is a small part and poses a CHOKING HAZARD, particularly for children.
Starting in 2011, we will be using the smaller cap on our 16 ounce, 20 ounce, 1 Liter, and 1.5 Liter bottle sizes and as these products are produced, you'll see a similar label statement on these products as well.
Pledging to swap one sugared beverage per day with water for a year has inspired families everywhere to live a better life.
As a packaged beverage company focusing on healthful bottled water products, our success depends on both the long-term sustainability of the waters and lands that support our business and on our relationships with our neighbors, consumers, employees and other stakeholders. Nestlé Waters North America engages in a variety of efforts, which underscore our commitment to conserving our resources, reducing waste and improving our social and environmental performance. Here are six key commitments we’ve made to help achieve our goals:
Promote Health & Hydration
We work with several national organizations, which promote nutritional education
for adults and children to support healthy lifestyles, including reducing consumption
of high-calorie, sugared beverages.
Provide Clean Water In the Wake of Natural Disasters
During natural disasters, we donate our bottled water products to rescue organizations
for families in need.
Manage Water Resources for Long-Term Sustainability
We conduct lengthy analyses of potential spring water sources including the surrounding
environment and only select spring sources that have long-term sustainability. We
seek to locate our bottling facilities in areas that can support a nearby bottling
plant in order to reduce carbon emissions from transport.
Reduce Our Manufacturing and Logistics Footprint
We’ve built 9 LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified bottling
plants, which are buildings certified for energy, water, and resource efficiency.
More are on the way, and we’ve added hybrid-fuel vehicles to our fleet to further
reduce our carbon footprint.
Develop Sustainable Packaging Solutions
Our .5 Liter Eco-Shape® Bottle uses an average of 30% less plastic compared to similar
size carbonated and non-carbonated beverage containers – that’s a savings of 245
million pounds of plastic per year as a result of “light-weighting” our bottles.
And we’re working to design a bottle produced from 100% recycled materials by 2020.
Be A Good Neighbor
We strive to communicate openly and honestly with the communities where our offices,
plants and spring water sources are to support the needs of those communities.
